Running a remote validation sprint across time zones

Remote sprints fail when they mimic eight-hour in-person workshops on Zoom. Shorter sessions with mandatory pre-reads outperform marathon calls.

We schedule discovery interviews before the sprint week, then use live time for decisions only. Artifacts are shared 24 hours ahead in the recipient’s working morning.

For PH teams coordinating with US West Coast, anchor two overlap windows and async everything else. Record decision summaries in writing within an hour of each session — verbal agreements evaporate.

Hybrid is viable: one on-site day for high-friction workshops, remote for reviews. Travel budget is a trade-off, not a quality signal.
